Crypto tax figures for your Swedish K4 form.
The service works out SEK values and your cost basis (omkostnadsbelopp) using the average cost method (genomsnittsmetoden)*, in a report where every amount can be traced back to its source. This also covers years you haven't declared.
In development. Launch planned ahead of the 2027 tax filing season.Want to know when the service opens? Email us at kontakt@deklareracrypto.se.

DAC8: crypto platforms are starting to report to tax authorities
Declaring gains and losses on crypto-assets is nothing new. What is new is that the Swedish Tax Agency receives information about your transactions from the platforms you use. Since 1 January 2026, EU rules commonly known as DAC8 have required platforms that provide crypto-asset services to collect information about their users and their transactions and pass it on to tax authorities. This means that information about people living in Sweden reaches the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket), which can compare it with what has been declared.

How your transactions are taxed depends on the Swedish Tax Agency's rules and your own situation. This page is not tax advice.
Haven't declared your crypto before?
Working out gains and losses on crypto transactions can be complicated, especially with many swaps across several platforms. If something went wrong or never got done, it can be corrected afterwards. The Swedish Tax Agency calls this requesting a review (begäran om omprövning), and it can be done up to six years back. At the end of each year, the deadline passes for the oldest year that can still be corrected.

Frequently asked questions
How do I declare bitcoin and other crypto in Sweden?
Sales and exchanges of crypto-assets are normally reported on the K4 form (bilaga K4), section D. For each asset you state the sale price and the cost basis, and the difference is your gain or loss. The Swedish Tax Agency explains the rules in its guidance on crypto-assets.
Is swapping one crypto for another taxable?
Yes. According to the Swedish Tax Agency, a swap counts as a sale, so you report a gain or loss even if you have never withdrawn any money to your bank account.
What is the average cost method?
The average cost method (genomsnittsmetoden) is used to calculate the cost basis when you sell crypto-assets. The cost basis is the average purchase price of all units of the same kind. If you bought 1 ETH for SEK 20,000 and 1 ETH for SEK 30,000, your cost basis is SEK 25,000 per ETH.
Do I need my full transaction history?
The cost basis is based on all your purchases of an asset, including those from earlier years. If you're missing older records, the service is designed to help you include your earlier holdings anyway.
Can I correct previous years' tax returns?
Yes. You request a review from the Swedish Tax Agency, up to six years back, and several years can be included in the same request. Read more about correcting previous years.
What is DAC8?
DAC8 refers to EU rules that have applied since 2026. Platforms that provide crypto-asset services report information about their users and their transactions to tax authorities, which exchange it with each other within the EU.
Do you store my data?
The service is built to store as little about you as possible. You won't need to give your name or personal identity number, and you will be able to delete your data yourself. This website uses no cookies and no tracking. Read more about privacy.
Is this tax advice?
No. The service calculates and shows how each figure was reached, but it does not assess your situation and does not submit anything to the Swedish Tax Agency. You are responsible for your own tax return. If you're unsure, contact the Swedish Tax Agency or a tax adviser.
When does the service open?
